TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge gets native PS5 port, no free upgrade for PS4 owners

The new native PS5 port is coming on November 15th. While the game has been backwards compatible on both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, owners of the PS4 version of the game are not eligible for a free upgrade to the native PS5 port. Tribute Games noted the native PS5 port is identical to the PS4 version, though.

Limited Run Games and Merge Games (via Signature Edition Games) are both offering a physical edition for the game’s native PS5 port, and in various editions, too.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge has been available since June 2022 across Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 and on Xbox Game Pass. In case you missed it, you can check out our review for the game here – we highly recommend the game!

Here’s a rundown on the game:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge

Paying homage to classic TMNT games like Turtles In Time, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge reunites Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael as they kick shell in a bodacious, beautifully realized side scrolling beat-em-up invoking the Turtles’ legendary 1987 design.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge features groundbreaking gameplay rooted in timeless classic brawling mechanics, brought to you by the beat ’em-up experts at Dotemu (Streets of Rage 4) and Tribute Games (part of the studio used to work on Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game and TMNT Game Boy Advance). Bash your way through gorgeous pixel art environments and slay tons of hellacious enemies with your favorite Turtle, each with his own skills and moves – making each run unique! Choose a fighter, use radical combos to defeat your opponents and experience intense combats loaded with breathtaking action and outrageous ninja abilities.
